FCCI Chooses Windemuller for Lightning Protection

High Tech Insurance: Protecting the Data from Lightning and Surge

FCCI is a multi-line insurance company with a valued reputation for dependability and fast service to agents and policyholders.  When they constructed their fiber optic state-of-the-art technical complex, security of the data, equipment and employees was paramount.

The 40-acre campus at Lakewood Ranch in Manatee County, Florida was built to meet service and storage needs for the company.  FCCI invested in the largest redundant backup generator in the southeast and constructed the buildings to withstand hurricane winds of 185 mph.

Consulting engineers and the plant facilities supervisor also incorporated a two prong system of lightning and surge protection. The complex includes the early streamer emission Lightning Preventor 2005 system along with a comprehensive package of surge protection.

Now – with both systems in place – employees, client records and electronic equipment are fully protected from potentially fatal lightning strikes from above as well as from internally and externally generated transient surges that could damage computers and other electronic equipment.
